What Am I To Do?

Self Placement

It was become increasingly obvious to Reg that he could no longer manage to live by himself. He was having difficulty moving about unaided, becoming increasingly forgetful and easily confused. He often forgot whether he had showered that day and had difficulty remembering how to make his bed. Despite all this Reg was still in reasonable health and with some assistance he would be able to live quite comfortably in a hostel environment. The next obstacle to overcome was how he would locate the type of hostel he would be happy with.

Placement by Family

Following a debilitating stroke three months prior resulting in Gladys requiring hospitalisation and rehabilitation, her family had reluctantly come to the realisation that she was no longer capable of caring for herself in her own home. Moving their mum to a nursing home was the only realistic option available as none of the family had the room or the time to adequately care for her. The problem that faced the family was that they had no idea of how to go about finding somewhere suitable for her needs.

In-house Assist

Greg and Heather were finding it less appealing to visit his parents. Greg's mother had always been so house proud but now didn't seem to care anymore. Clothes were left scattered around the house and the garden was overgrown with weeds. It was becoming obvious to both Greg and Heather that his parents no longer had the strength or the inclination to keep their home neat and tidy anymore. It was becoming increasingly obvious that they needed home help. With his busy work schedule and Heather's full time job together with caring for their teenage boys they just didn't have the time to find such a service
